Support Worker - Respite Care

Are you passionate about providing compassionate and high-quality support to individuals in need? We invite you to become an integral part of our team as a Support Worker. This fulfilling position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while gaining valuable experience in the disability support field.

We are seeking a dedicated support staff members available to work 1 on 1 on Fridays, with the opportunity to pick up other shifts

Main Responsibilities:

Deliver respite care for children and youth aged 2 to 17 years Assist with daily routines, including bathing, dressing, and personal grooming Administer medications in accordance with healthcare provider instructions Prepare and serve meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences Perform light housekeeping to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment Support with mobility, transfers, and lifting as required Have experience with G-tube feeding Provide companionship and emotional support to clients Plan and facilitate engaging activities suited to clients' interests and abilities

Qualifications & Skills:

Previous experience in similar support roles Knowledge of medication administration procedures Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and mobility assistance Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate, caring, and respectful attitude towards clients Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and privacy

Requirements:

Valid First Aid Certification Vulnerable Sector Police Background Check completed within the last 6 months CFS Intervention Check completed within the last 6 months Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
