In-Home Respite Worker (Subcontractor / Casual)

Ancora Light Respite Inc. is currently seeking a compassionate and dependable

In-Home Respite Worker

to support a child with special needs. This role focuses on encouraging skill development and independence through engaging, personalized activities in the comfort of the child's home. You'll play a vital role in their daily routines while creating a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes growth and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

Minimum 1 year of experience working with children with Autism. Assist the child with daily home routines. Plan and engage the child in meaningful activities aligned with their interests and developmental needs. Participate in and support physically active play. Respond to challenging behaviours with patience, empathy, and effective redirection strategies. Maintain open and ongoing communication with the child's family and ALR regarding progress and any concerns.

Shifts, 2-3 times per week

Qualifications:

-Education: A diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child and Youth Worker, or a similar relevant field.

- Background Check: Candidates must provide a police/vulnerable sector check to ensure the safety of vulnerable populations.

- CPR and First Aid Certification

- May be required to provide medical documentation as needed to support the vulnerable sector population in the public.

- ABA knowledge is an asset.
