Women\'s Age Lab is a new centre that focuses on improving the lives of older women. The Lab will bring together the work of researchers, healthcare providers, community-based organizations, and policy makers, to drive change and have a meaningful impact for this population. An exciting full-time opportunity as a Research Lead exists in the Women\'s Age Lab reporting to Dr. Paula Rochon. This role is instrumental in providing support to the activities of Women\'s Age Lab.

  • Participates partially or fully in all stages of research studies, participates in initial project design, setting of research goals and the selection and development of procedures
  • Manages the administrative responsibilities of the Lab\'s research program, including human resources and finance functions
  • Ensures effective human resource allocation through recruitment, selection, training, and performance management
  • Provides direct supervision of assigned research staff and research trainees
  • Develops detailed work plans, monitors timelines and deliverables to provide day-to-day management of projects
  • Writes reports (scientific reports/working papers/publications/summaries), abstracts, poster presentations, peer-reviewed publications and other relevant deliverables, in collaboration with Dr. Rochon
  • Leads the coordination of all grant applications, including overseeing all elements of grant preparation, review and submission
  • Oversees the preparation and submission of all research-related reporting
  • Reviews manuscripts and proposals of investigators
  • Leads the preparation and completion of all REB applications
  • Reviews Data Transfer Agreements and Research Agreements with investigators and other internal/external
stakeholders (research service departments, external study sites, etc.)
  • Provides research and management expertise to the PI, team members and collaborators;
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to other faculty and trainees as required.
  • Plans and executes research meetings, including coordination of required documentation, slides, minutes etc
  • Participates in and presents at internal and external seminars and conferences

Qualifications
  • Master\'s degree in a relevant field (e.g., health sciences, health services or public policy), PhD an asset
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible and related experience in research coordination and/or management in a healthcare setting
  • Expertise in Epidemiology and/or Health Services Research.
  • Highly developed project management skills, with the ability to manage study timelines and supervise/manage
project staff, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Demonstrated success in preparation and submission of manuscripts to scientific journals and grant proposals
to federal granting agencies
  • Demonstrated experience presenting research findings at invited meetings and conferences; academic publication experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary and team environment
  • Ability to meet tight and fluid deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills are required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated record of good performance and acceptable attendance will be considered as part of the selection criteria.
  • Professional behaviour and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable, and the standards of Women\'s College Hospital.
