Project Coordinator \xe2\x80\x93 Immigrant Women\xe2\x80\x99s Business Circles Full Time Position, 37.5 hours per week Competitive salary and benefits package SUMMARY OF POSITION The Project Coordinator is responsible for the development and administration of immigrant women\'s business circles/business incubators that enable prospective entrepreneurs to build the entrepreneurial, digital & technical skills in-line with mainstream business expectations. The Project Coordinator is responsible for all program components across Alberta including successful business start-ups. This position maintains close contact with the Business Development Instructor to ensure staff work collaboratively to achieve outcomes. The coordinator works closely with the Department Manager on all administrative duties including program reporting and applications. The Project Coordinator will ensure all duties are executed in a professional and timely fashion. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and participate in program promotion and client recruitment
  • Coordinate and support the development and activity of business circles grouped by business interests
  • Provide needs based support to business circle participants and the Business Development Instructor to ensure horizontal and vertical business linkages are developed and retained
  • Coordinate and ensure the capacity building and leadership development of one participant per circle
  • Coordinate the development of partnerships and facilitate round table meetings
  • Identify and approve subsidies for businesses led by client circles
  • Coordinate and supervise curriculum development, mentorship planning, and leadership capacity building
  • Coordinate and conduct follow ups with businesses, organizations, clients and volunteers
  • Monitor business circles\xe2\x80\x99 outcomes
  • Supervise the work of the program team
  • Develop and coordinate the implementation of measurement tools for the program according to proposal requirements for knowledge management and reporting
  • Provide regular reporting to the department manager
  • Ensure client data entry is complete in the CMS database
  • Attend and participate in CIWA events
  • Other duties as assigned by the Department Manager including requests for additional paid hours on a temporary basis when needed

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Post-secondary education in the area of Business Administration or Community Development
  • Knowledge and experience in 1) Canadian business development and 2) models of collective savings and loans/micro finance
  • Knowledge of business analytics and market trends
  • Experience with program planning, program implementation, and program logic models
  • Understanding of outcome measurement tools
  • Proven experience in proposal/report writing
  • Computer literacy and strong communication skills including writing skills
  • Experience with and/or sound knowledge of curriculum development considered an asset
  • Experience working with immigrants dealing with language barriers
  • Appreciation and knowledge of cultural diversity/experience working with an immigrant population
  • Supervisory experience in a not for profit environment
  • Strong team work skills and the ability to work using a participatory management style
