Closing Date: July 31, 2024Position SummaryA Project Manager (Research Associate) position is available in the Princess Margret Genomics Centre, a research genomics core lab in the University Health Network in Toronto, Canada (www.pmgenomics.ca). Located in the MaRS Centre in the heart of the downtown Discovery District, the PMGC provides access to cutting-edge single cell, spatial, epigenetic, and functional genomics assays. Working under the direction of the Principal Investigators of the grant funding this postion, the Project Manager will assume responsibility for activities within PMGC, especially those related to projects connected to our Brain Canada platform grant operations.The Project Manager will professionally manage fee-for-service and collaborative research projects as well as scientific community outreach, development and training. This role requires attention to detail, clear communication (verbally and written), comfort with project management software, and performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as required.Duties

  • Coordinating collaboration and service agreements.
  • Completing scientific progress reports.
  • Managing budgets.
  • Ensuring milestones are met within grant-funded activities
  • Communicating with the community at large via social media
  • Can involve wet-lab work for a suitable candidate.
Qualifications
  • At minimum, a Master\'s degree in cancer genetics, molecular biology, genetic counselling or related field.
  • At minimum, 2 years of related research-oriented research experience, or, a Bachelors degree with 5 years experience
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills required
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required
  • Formal training or certification in project management (e.g. PMP) is a major asset
  • Experience developing science communications and marketing materials, including for social media, is an asset
  • Ability to set priorities and work independently with accuracy in a multitasking environment
  • Strong Proficiency with MS Office software, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Google Docs and Sheets
  • Experience with online tools, including project management software (Asana) and Google documents
