The Neuromodulation group within the Division of Neurosurgery is providing state-of-the-art and evidenced based treatments for patients with chronic neurological disorders (e.g. Parkinson\'s, other movement disorders, epilepsy and neuropathic pain). The team is organized interdisciplinary together with neurologists, psychologists, neurosurgery and allied health. We have initiated several trials and registry studies that will start recruiting patients very soon. These studies have the goal to improve the quality and efficiency of the way these treatments are delivered. We provide services throughout Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and New Brunswick.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Research Assistant contributes to the Neuromodulation team assisting with study administration, by providing general administrative support and by maintaining study data.

About You

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education in a Health Science and/or Science related field, or completed post-secondary education in a Health Science and/or Science related field required
  • Two years\' research related experience preferred
  • Previous experience in a health care/research setting is an asset
  • CCRP (Certified Clinical Research Professional) or CCRA (Certified Clinical Research Associate) an asset
  • Proficiency with current Capital Health systems (STAR, PHS and/or LIS) an asset
  • TCPS2: CORE Certification considered an asset
  • French language skills (written and spoken B2 level or higher)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint), email and internet
  • Effective communication, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to draft, format and edit office correspondence
  • Well developed organizational, time management and daily planning skills
  • Ability to work well independently as well as within a multi-disciplinary team environment

Hours of Work

This position has an Onsite work arrangement.

1 year Long Assignment Part Time 50% FTE position

Compensation and Benefits

$21.58 hourly - $26.98 hourly

$42,084 annually - $52,605 annually
