About Arctic Canadian Diamond Company Arctic Canadian is a Canadian mining company and a significant producer and supplier of premium rough diamond assortments to the global market. The company owns and operates the Ekati Diamond Mine, located in Canada\xe2\x80\x99s Northwest Territories. In addition to its mining and exploration operations, Arctic Canadian has offices in Canada and Belgium.
Position Overview The Reliability Advisor will be responsible for improving equipment availability and reliability by developing and improving equipment maintenance strategies (EMS), as well as using comprehensive failure analysis and condition monitoring. Maintain database of maintenance related failures resulting in area production losses, coordinate equipment reliability or maintainability improvement initiatives. Assist in development of area inspection plans, both running and shutdown. Participate in review of mill Design and equipment standards. Participate in Capital project design reviews, ensuring reliability and maintainability factors are considered. The successful candidate will have strong analytic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team to striving to achieve best-in-class efficiency and productivity. The Reliability Advisor must be able to prioritize multiple job tasks using strong organizational skills, be able to adhere to individual and team accountability.
Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Initiate and follow preventative maintenance schedules and processes that are cost effective and increase the availability as well as maximize the operational life of equipment;
  • Analyze performance metrics and work history to identify defects and improvement opportunities, failure investigation, and to determine the most effective maintenance strategy to address and move the department to a more predictive maintenance approach;
  • Contribute to proactive maintenance practices by performing regular reviews of equipment in the shop and field, and to ensure that equipment is maintained in the most reliable and cost-effective manner;
  • Analyze equipment\xe2\x80\x99s operating and downtime data, troubleshoot equipment that is operating below functional standards, and consult with trades and other staff to resolve technical problems;
  • Lead and participate in reliability improvements using recognized tools such as Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM);
  • Always protect the safety and well-being of yourself and your co-workers. Follow all Company specific safety protocols and Occupational Health & Safety policies and procedures.

Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent;
  • Bachelor of Applied Science or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Red Seal certification;
  • 5+ years of experience working with in a process plant maintenance mining field or other applicable industry;
  • Carrying out statistical analysis using various reliability software, Microsoft Excel and SAP;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance, repair standards and best practices;
  • Strong project management skills.

Additional Information Arctic provides travel to and from the Ekati mine site out of Calgary, Yellowknife, and other northern fly points. This position will be on a 2x2 rotation.
