Arts In Motion is a locally owned small business that has been operational in Red Deer for 10 years - proudly serving children and families with a uniquely specialized Performing Arts Preschool and Childcare Centre. Our growing programs offer Red Deer families a truly unique and specialized early childhood education program through the Performing Arts. Our expanding childcare facility is currently looking for

innovative, caring, compassionate Early Childhood Educators

to join our dream team. The ideal candidate(s) has experience caring for children ranging in age from 12 months to 6 years.

At Arts In Motion Performing Arts Centre, we are committed to providing top-quality care and education for the children who call our facility home. Our goal is to enhance the lives of every child that attends our program. Each day of programming is filled with a rich and diverse offering of opportunities to dance in our large studio spaces, perform inside our "Center Stage", make music inside our spacious group music classrooms, stretch with mindful yoga and even FLY in our acrobatics classes. Our facility has been intentionally created with 10 unique classrooms specifically designed for every age and stage of development.

Full Time and Part-time casual position available as we continue to build the team of our dreams!

QUALIFICATIONS:



Government of Alberta Early Childhood Education Certificate or equivalent

Current First Aid certification: Standard Level C CPR

Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check. (Not dated more than three months).

SKILLS REQUIRED:



Program plan collaboration and implementation for lead educator positions

Excellent oral and written skills.

Demonstrated leadership ability.

Sound knowledge of child development.

Ability to work in a confidential environment.

Excellent team player.

Ability to relate well with children, parents, colleagues and community.

Compassion and humor.

Demonstrated ability to supervise children and staff.

Dance + Music Background is an asset.

Candidates must have an approach to programming that will compliment our emergent artistic, play-based curriculum philosophy

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:



According to the childcare centre's philosophy, the successful candidate will deliver a positive, rich, childcare program in compliance with the Standards of Alberta Provincial Regulations, Alberta's Early Learning & Care Framework, and other acts or regulations applicable. Curriculum templates have been built into our existing programming and would be modeled for optimal program consistency while still allowing the opportunity to be creative as an educator.

Program Director + CEO Arts In Motion Performing Arts Centre

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:



Ensure the safety and well-being of each child. Work alongside the program director to plan and implement suitable classroom activities to ensure high-quality care and meet all children's needs, utilizing clear and concise routines, rules and limits. Deliver interesting and imaginative teacher-centred and child-centred activities for each child's needs and the needs of the group. Perform and be responsible for housekeeping tasks and all duties outlined in the daily shift requirements. Always ensure the safety and maintenance of the equipment and toys. Maintain close communication with the director and parents on the development and progress of each child. Maintain a developmentally appropriate learning environment for children 12 months to 6 years old (ages divided based on classroom). Ensure appropriate facility cleanliness at all times. Responsible for opening and closing of the centre as needed Act as an ambassador for Arts In Motion Performing Arts Centre at all times. Employees at every level, including management, are responsible and accountable for Arts In Motions program overall safety initiatives.

ADMINISTRATIVE:



Attend and participate in all staff meetings, recommended training programs and conferences. Be knowledgeable of and implement Health & Safety regulations as approved by the Environmental Public Health Services in your classroom Be familiar with and carry out duties and responsibilities following the Childcare Regulations Act.

PARENTS & COMMUNITY:



Initiate, establish and maintain a continuing positive and supportive relationship with parents. Be available to explain the operation and functions of your classroom to parents, students and the community. Maintain contact with other related outreach programs, e.g., speech therapist. Utilize parent communication app daily to ensure families are a collaborative part of their child's development in the classroom
