Berwick on the Lake retirement community is looking for a Receptionist who is reliable, authentic, and excited to make a difference in the lives of people. Schedule: 4 on / 4 off, Monday to Thursday 2:00pm to 7:30pm & Friday to Sunday 8:30am to 4:30pm. An average of 21 hours weekly. Pay: Starting wage is $19.90 per hour, plus temporary Covid-19 Provincial wage subsidy top-up of $6.16, plus evening and night shift differentials as applicable. Benefits:

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Office Manager, provides reception, switchboard and general office duties and maintains efficient operations of the front office. Responds to inquiries from residents, staff and the public in a polite and courteous manner. Provides administrative support to the General Manager and various department managers. Maintains resident files, processes resident move in/out documentation and maintains the resident billing system. Maintains BRIT transactions and petty cash fund. Manages all resident and company information in a confidential manner and in accordance with the freedom of information and protection of privacy act. Qualifications Required:
  • High School completion and minimum 2 year?s experience in a related office and administrative field
  • A high level of proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel & Outlook) and well versed in the operation of standard office machines and equipment
  • Proficient data entry and basic reconciliation skills
  • Strong multi-tasking and communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently with good understanding of verbal and written instruction
  • Patient, reliable and service oriented
  • Self-motivated team player with excellent judgment and interpersonal skills with co-workers, seniors, and the general public
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with various individuals involved in providing holistic care in a flexible resident focused environment
  • Emergency Level I First Aid & CPR required
  • Emergency Response Training an asset
  • WHMIS certification
Note: A criminal record check is required pursuant to the Criminal Records Review Act for working with vulnerable adults. Current TB test also required, as well as proof of Covid-19 vaccination(s).
