Jahanshahi Law Firm is a modern, fast-growing business law firm located in Toronto, Ontario. As we expand our practice, we're looking to add a capable and detail-oriented Real Estate Law Clerk to our team.

fully in-person role

Key Responsibilities:
Real Estate Law Support:
Manage full transaction lifecycle for residential, commercial, and private real estate deals--from initial client contact to post-closing follow-up.
Open and organize files for purchases, sales, mortgage refinances, and private lending transactions (including ILA and ILR files).
Draft and prepare closing documents, including but not limited to: Statement of Adjustments, Direction re: Title, Affidavits, Undertakings, and Acknowledgments.
Order title insurance, conduct full title searches, and prepare requisition letters where applicable.
Review and interpret lender instructions, prepare mortgage documentation accordingly, and liaise with lenders and mortgage brokers.
Communicate with clients, real estate agents, law firms, and financial institutions throughout the transaction to coordinate closing logistics and resolve issues.
Prepare and submit documents for electronic registration.
Coordinate with title insurers and lenders through platforms such as Lawyer Lender Connect.
Monitor critical deadlines, including closing dates, requisition dates, and financing conditions, ensuring all closing conditions are met.
Handle trust deposits, disbursements, and reporting letters, including post-closing undertakings.
Respond to and resolve requisition letters and title issues with professionalism and efficiency.
Stay current on updates in real estate practice and regulatory compliance (e.g., LSO, Teraview, LawPRO guidelines).
Corporate Law Support:
Assist with setting up Ontario and Federal corporations
Draft corporate resolutions, minute books, and share registers
Assist senior corporate law clerk with ongoing corporate governance matters and reorganizations
General Legal & Administrative Support:
Draft and send retainers and legal correspondence
Answer and direct phone calls professionally
Manage client intake and organize digital and physical files
Assist the principal lawyer directly with file and task management
Track tasks and workflows using Monday.com and Clio
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience handling real estate transactions from open to close (residential and/or commercial)
Familiarity with corporate law procedures and corporate filings
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Comfort working directly with clients and lawyers
Professional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and within a small team

Requirements:
Speaking Farsi is an asset but not a requirement
Minimum 2 years of experience in a law firm, ideally in real estate and/or corporate law
Legal Assistant or Law Clerk diploma/certificate preferred
Excellent attention to detail and task ownership
Must be able to work fully in-person at our Toronto office --
