About Us
At the Department of Agriculture, our vision is to create a Nova Scotia agriculture and agri-food industry that is diversified, market-focused and profitable. We work to support the development of competitive, sustainable and profitable agriculture and agri-business industries that contribute to the economic, environmental and social prosperity of Nova Scotia.
About Our Opportunity
The objective of the Resilient Agricultural Landscape Program (RALP) is to increase the environmental resiliency of agricultural landscapes by accelerating the adoption of on-farm land use and management practices that maximize the provision of multiple ecological goods and services (EG&S). Ecological goods and services are the benefits society derives from healthy functioning ecosystems. This includes the maintenance and provision of healthy soil and water resources, wildlife habitat and biodiversity, as well as adapting to the impacts of climate change (e.g. increasing carbon storage and resilience to floods and droughts).
As the RALP Coordinator, you will lead the administration and coordination of the Resilient Agricultural Landscape Program (RALP) within the Department of Agriculture and support the agricultural sector and the Department to develop projects that provide an incremental benefit in ecological goods and services.
