The ideal candidate will sit in our Dartmouth, Nova Scotia office but are open to candidates within our other Atlantic Offices.

Your Contribution
  • Actively promoting a health and safety culture.
  • Acting as an expert health and safety resource in the development and implementation of programs, initiatives and activities related to organizational objectives at the Regional and corporate levels.
  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement ISO 9001 Quality Management System policies and procedures
  • Responding to requests for information from operational managers.
  • Actively contributing to the development and implementation of various programs, procedures, and corporate activities.
  • Compiles accident and incident reports and reviews the resulting investigation process and corrective actions.
  • Maintaining databases and reporting for various safety related statistics.
  • Participating in National Health and Safety Committee initiatives and attendance at monthly meetings.
  • Interpret legislative requirements in each province of the Region.
  • Facilitates COR Certifications in NB, NS and Newfoundland/Labrador.
  • Facilitates PPE supplies in each office of the Region through local administrative staff.
  • Chairs JOSH Committee meetings in NB, NS and Newfoundland/Labrador.
  • Facilitates annual safety refresher for all staff.
  • Prepares and distributes communications regarding health and safety and promotes and implements incentives.
  • Complete all Health and Safety orientations of new staff across the region.
  • Monitors regulations and recommends changes to Englobe documentation to reflect Provincial regulatory changes.
  • Support ongoing evaluation and implementation of quality and safety training programs by ensuring safety training is delivered as legislated and is compatible with Engobe\xe2\x80\x99s standards and procedures along with industry best practices.
  • Development of both instructor-led and electronic delivery of quality and health and safety training programs, including delivery, assessment, and learner resource support tools
  • Research and maintain awareness of regulatory compliance requirements and ensure that changes are reflected in training programs as required.
Your Profile
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree preferred, or an equivalent blend of relevant education and experience. Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety is an asset
  • Minimum 10 years of health and safety experience
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is a strong asset
  • Communication skills, both verbal and written, with confidence to speak in front of a group
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure data and reports are accurate and reliable
  • Demonstrated leader, resourcefulness, and initiative.
  • Strong familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety legislation, and related standards, from various jurisdictions affecting the consulting engineering industry, specifically throughout Atlantic Canada Provinces.
  • Previous experience with professional service quality management systems would be an asset
  • Demonstrated autonomy and organization
  • Proficiency in Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Ability to Travel to Office locations and project sites in Atlantic Canada. In possession of a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and reliable vehicle.
