The Quality Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring that vinyl window products meet internal standards, customer requirements, and industry certifications. This position is responsible for performing inspections, coordinating quality processes, supporting continuous improvement, and facilitating communication between production and quality teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control & Inspection
Conduct in coming, in-process and final inspections of vinyl window units, covering key areas such as frame and sash dimension verification at cutting and punching stages, weld quality, glass inspection, glazing, and hardware installation.
Assess paint quality both in the paint room and on the production floor.
Inspect the installation of brickmold and other accessories, verify layouts for combination windows before mulling, and perform aesthetic quality checks including surface finish, cleanliness, and weld appearance at the brickmold.
All inspections are to be carried out as per the defined Quality Checklist and scheduled frequency.
Use measuring tools (calipers, gauges, tape) to verify specifications.
Perform "White Gloves" and "RMA" process as per Company Quality Standard
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of inspections, rejection, white gloves and RMA . Also maintain rework logs, and quality metrics.
Prepare daily quality inspection reports and update quality presentation data on daily basis.
Non-Conformance & Root Cause
Identify product defects and assist in root cause analysis (RCA).
Follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with production and maintenance teams.
Support Continuous Improvement
Assist in Lean, 5S, and Kaizen initiatives aimed at reducing scrap and improving process efficiency.
Participate in quality audits and contribute to standard work documentation.
Training & Compliance
Train production operators on visual defect criteria and handling procedures.
Also train production operators on QualityAlerts and New process or process change.
Review customer complaint with the production team
Ensure compliance with AAMA, or NFRC standards and customer specifications.
Testing & Calibration
Support product performance testing (air infiltration, water leakage, structural integrity) and coordinate sample preparation or new product development.
Ensure tools and measuring devices are calibrated and within specification.
Qualifications:
Diploma or certificate in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field.
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment (preferably windows or doors).
Familiarity with inspection tools and techniques (visual, dimensional).
Basic knowledge of ISO 9001, Lean principles, capable for blue print readings and corrective action processes.
Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
