Summary



The Quality Coordinator ensures MDT's Radical Plant operates with a high standard of product quality and employee well-being. This position performs hands-on quality inspections and leads health and safety initiatives. It plays a key part in ensuring zero-defect production, strong audit readiness, and a proactive safety culture where every team member is protected and empowered.

Key Success Indicators



? Ensure compliance with quality standards through routine production checks.

? Effective tracking and reporting of production waste.

? Timely communication and resolution of quality assurance concerns.

? Active participation in continuous improvement and root cause investigations

? Regular Safety walks and incident reporting conducted and tracked

Job Duties:



Quality Control and Assurance



? Conduct standard quality checks on the production line to ensure part accuracy and

compliance with specifications.

? Work closely with production teams to address quality concerns in real time.

? Assist in identifying and addressing defects or deviations in products.

? Oversee and manage calibration of all measurement instruments.

Quality Documentation and Compliance



? Assist in email communication regarding quality assurance matters, including material certification documents and compliance records.

? Ensure documentation is properly stored and easily accessible for audits and reporting.

? Facilitate supplier audits and coordinate with MDT QMS

? Job instruction updates in relation to quality and packaging requirements.

Incoming Material Inspection



? Assist in incoming inspections of raw materials and components to verify compliance with specifications.

? Document findings and escalate any material quality concerns to the appropriate teams.

Health and Safety



? Lead monthly safety talks and toolbox meetings for production staff

? Conduct routine safety walkthroughs and identify hazards

? Ensure proper use of PPE, machine guarding, and adherence to safety policies

? Maintain first aid kits, eyewash stations, and emergency readiness procedures

? Document incidents and near misses; assist with investigations and corrective actions

Continuous Improvement and Communication



? Follow up with production and quality leaders to assist in root cause analysis for defects and process inefficiencies.

? Communicate findings with relevant departments and work collaboratively with quality teams to implement corrective actions.

? Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance production processes and reduce defects.

Required Skills and Attributes



? Strong attention to detail and accuracy in counting, labeling, and reporting.

? Basic knowledge of quality assurance principles and inspection techniques.

? Ability to operate within a fast-paced production environment and conduct regular quality checks.

? Strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate with production and quality teams.

? Proficiency in Google Suite for reporting and documentation.

? Ability to analyze data and assist in root cause analysis for quality issues.

? Familiarity with injection molding processes is an asset.

? Knowledge of and training in 6 Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, TQM and other manufacturing methods is a requirement.

? Extensive firearms experience an asset.

? Prior technical experience in emergency medical response, field triage, or paramedical operations

? Ability to develop and implement operational SOPs and technical procedures across multidisciplinary teams

? Experience managing or training small teams in high-pressure situations

? Working knowledge of health & safety protocols and occupational risk management in technical or medical settings

? Working knowledge of SOP-driven environments with strict traceability and

documentation requirements

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
