Overall responsibilities include monitoring, testing and auditing various areas and products throughout the entire factory using measurements, sensory techniques and proper laboratory techniques as described in the Company's Standard Operation Procedures.
Job Summary:
Completes standard quality control testing using proper laboratory techniques to ensure all products exiting the factory meet the proper specifications as set out by Management. which tasks you are responsible for completing, you will be trained on all duties related to the role.
Responsibilities:
Daily Calibration of lab equipment as per company Standard Operating Procedures.
Conduct pre-op inspection and residue testing of equipment.
Verifies correct formula used with product profile and production schedule.
Perform lot number verification of recorded ingredients on formula sheets/correct ingredients used on a bi-hourly basis provide positive release.
Conduct swabbing of food & nonfood contact surfaces for micro testing as per sampling schedule, maintain lab reports and advise QA to Supervisor/designate when supplies are required.
Perform physical & Chemical measurements of base cookies (weights, thickness, dimension, % icing, % Moisture)
Conduct hourly checks on metal detector (CCP) to ensure functioning and document and investigate positive metal findings.
Ensure retain samples are received and stored in chronological order in the proper area.
Conduct peanut testing on finished product, equipment, and ingredients, provide report to QA Supervisor/ designate and advise when supplies are required
Completion of weekly environmental microbiology testing
Collect water samples, air samples for micro testing as per sampling schedule, maintain lab reports, advise QA Manager/designate when supplies are required.
Maintenance of fly boards and Indian Meal Moth traps as needed.
Conduct shelf-life evaluation of 1st day production and incubator samples as requested by QC Manager
Completion of bench top samples as requested.
Documentation control (Certificate of Analysis)
Completion of the daily product line audit.
Complete finished product quality checks for correct BB date, correct packaging, and that all case labels are correct for each product made, and to be checked every hour or as needed.
Daily inspection of ingredients for potential contamination (odor, appearance, color, condition)
Daily inspection of ingredient room, cooler, scaling, mixing area (behind mixers) for proper storage, cleanliness, potential contamination issues, documenting and reporting to manager for corrective action.
Complete all tasks as per company SOPs and Methods.
Issuing an incident report and/or hold reports for out of standard product/packaging, food safety incidents, GMP infractions.
Take charge of product development, sample baking, new ingredient testing.
Ensure SQF paperwork is being completed, sanitation traceability, and mixing traceability.
Daily inspection of operators for GMP's practices, handling procedures

Requirements
:
Experience working in a food production laboratory an asset.
Experience working with SQF
Has experience working with SQF in food manufacturing
Good Microsoft Office and overall computer skills an asset
Good written and verbal communication skills
High comfort level working in a diverse environment.
Strong attention to detail
Able to stand for multiple hours.
Able to multitask.
