Job Description

Reporting to the Regional QA Manager, the Quality Assistant is responsible for assisting in the assessment all materials, ingredients, and suppliers. The Quality Assistant is expected to conduct all matters in a manner consistent with Trouw Nutrition, a Nutreco company's Corporate Values of Innovation, Caring, Capable, and Collaboration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Will contribute to Trouw Nutrition's quality program in both the Livestock Feed and Companion Animal Divisions.
• Responsible for sample registration of all incoming ingredients using the in-house LIMs system.
• Prepare requisitions for samples sent to outside laboratories and ensure all proper documentation is included with the shipment.
• Maintain communication with all quality team members about any potential quality issues so that the operation of the department can continue with minimal interruption.
• Prepare and analyze routine samples for toxins using ELISA strip kits.
• Using NIR technology, analyze ingredients and finished feeds for various nutrients.
• Is expected to be capable of performing basic calculations on routine analysis in an accurate and expedient manner so analysis can be reported quickly and confidently.
• Must be able to work collaboratively with other team members across all departments.
• Adherence to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

PREFERRED HIRING CRITERIA:

• Ideal candidate would have strong attention to detail; agility to prioritize; work well within a team; communication effectively; time management efficiency; curiosity to learn and adapt.
• Computer proficiency with the entire MS Office suite - proficiency in Excel.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Creative problem-solving ability, and forward-thinking abilities.
