Job Description

Purchasing: Must live in Winnipeg

Procure and place P. O's for materials for the organization in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Coordinate all purchases with inventory to ensure rapid delivery and reception of materials required

Receive and handle invoices from vendors; verify that the information on invoices is for agreed-upon prices, products, shipment date, and shipping method.

Advise GM of lead time required to obtain materials required.

Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies using diplomacy and tact with vendors and suppliers

Make recommendations and suggest options to Operations Manager regarding expected or unexpected material shortages.

Negotiate return of items to vendors and coordinate subsequent credits, refunds, or replacements.

Make alternate arrangements in the event of shortages or delayed deliveries to minimize impact on the organization.

Order Management

. Handle incoming orders, print out and coordinate drawings as required.

. Must have AutoCAD experience and ability to interpret drawings

. Prepare work orders, allocate outside service and materials with each work order

. Assist in managing time sensitive orders.

Requirements

University degree in material management, business, or administration or equivalent relevant work experience or equivalent work experience

Minimum of 3 years' experience as a purchaser.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Able to consistently represent the company in a professional manner.

Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.

Proficiency with MS office software with excellent data entry skills

Sound judgment and shrewd decision-making skills.

Ability to work with little or no supervision.

Knowledge of accounting and budgetary practices and principles.

Strong writing skills for creating reports, estimates/quotes, correspondence, contracts and other documentation.

Strong customer service focus.

Able to meet sensitive timelines

ERP or MES experience an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $35,000.00-$58,000.00 per year
