Under the general direction of the Senior Director Strategy and Impact and in collaboration with community organizations, training vendors and other internal/external stakeholders, the Senior Manager Training and Development is responsible for the full cycle design, development, coordination and delivery of curriculum and training programs to individuals and teams in the homeless sector in order to address homelessness in Winnipeg and for capacity building purposes resulting in improved quality of services and staff retention in the sector.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with the Senior Director Strategy and Impact, staff, community organizations, training vendors and other stakeholders to coordinate and deliver/facilitate training with an Indigenous and trauma informed lens while employing adult education principals to address homelessness in Winnipeg
Oversee the design, delivery and execution of engaging team and individual training programs i.e. sessions, workshops/seminars using a variety of methods, including in-person, virtual, and e-learning platforms ensuring they are delivered effectively and efficiently
Design and develop curriculum, materials and delivery methods, such as in-person training and on-line courses
Ensure delivery of E-learning courses, workshops, and other training (outsourced and/or in-house) utilizing LMS systems such as Brainier
Meet/engage with community partners and the business community to build rapport, identify training gaps, assess training needs and inform them of training opportunities
Measure, evaluate and assess the efficacy of training programs through feedback and analysis, identify gaps and make adjustments as required
Develop operating procedures and administrative forms and revise them as needed
Collaborate with EHW departments to identify training needs and create customized courses
Lead the Training Committee, participate on other committees/working groups
Provide information, updates and reports to the Senior Director
Participate in the hiring, supervising and evaluation of training staff
In collaboration with the Senior Director/CFO, manage and administer training budgets ensuring cost-effective delivery of training programs and that profitability ratios are met
Other duties as assigned and consistent with purpose of position
You are passionate about ending homelessness and have an in-depth understanding of homelessness and housing, as well as the needs of particularly vulnerable and over-represented populations and the issues affecting many homeless and low-income people. You also possess the following qualifications or an equivalent combination of education and related experience:
Post-secondary certificate or degree in a related discipline, e.g., Training and Development, Bachelor of Education, Adult Education and a minimum of 3 years' experience in related field in an educator role, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Working knowledge of community issues related to homelessness and knowledge of colonization and the historical factors that continue to impact Indigenous people regarding homelessness, poverty, etc.
Demonstrated experience with the full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor/evaluate and report)
Robust program and project management abilities
Demonstrated ability to design and coordinate effective training programs using a variety of methods with proficiency in various training methodologies and technologies
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage, monitor, supervise and evaluate direct reports
Strong communication and presentation skills (oral and written)
Excellent instructional design skills: to create engaging and effective learning experiences
Demonstrated proficiency in learning management systems and e-learning platforms, experience with Brainier an asset
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, establish and maintain effective working relationships with community organizations, training vendors and other stakeholders
Ability to work in a Windows environment including intermediate to advanced skill using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) as well as virtual platforms (Teams, Zoom)
Knowledge and experience with statistics, reporting and spreadsheets
Experience working with budgets
Valid MB driver's license with reliable transportation required

Salary range: $72,543 to $84,097 depending on qualifications and experience.
This is a full-time, out of scope (non-unionized) permanent position.
