Senior Manager, Youth & Public Programs

The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland is recruiting for Public Programs Coordinator. This role plays a key role in the development, coordination, and delivery of public programs. This position works closely with the Creative Experience Team and other departments to design and implement engaging, inclusive and memorable experiences for visitors of all ages.

About the Position?

Some tasks and responsibilities for this position will include -?

Program Administration & Coordination (45%)

Coordinate and oversee the logistics for all public programs, including program schedules, permits, vendor and presenter communication, supplies, and coordination with staff and volunteers to ensure a seamless delivery. Maintain program documentation, internal calendars, and registration systems. Help with the coordination of private program bookings. Respond to emails, phone calls, and other inquiries from guests and program participants in timely manner. Address visitor concerns or complaints, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
Program Development (25%)

With support from the Senior Manager, Youth & Public Programs, design and develop engaging, creative and diverse public programs that align with The Confluence's mission and objectives. Ensure programs are inclusive, accessible, and cater to a wide audience. Collaborate with other departments and partners to plan/create programs Research and propose new programming ideas based on community input and organizational priorities.
Program Delivery (20%)

Lead or assist with onsite program implementation, including setup and facilitation. Ensure a welcoming and accessible experience for participants. Collect and report on participant feedback, attendance data, and impact assessments.
Visitor Experience & Front Desk Support (5%)

Support front desk operations as needed, ensuring a welcoming, informative, and professional experience for all visitors. Work with the visitor experience team to ensure that the physical space, digital resources, and overall experience align with the public programming goals.
Other Duties (5%)

Supporting the Programs Team with other programs as needed. Additional tasks and projects as needed.

Qualifications

At least 2 years of experience in public programming, community engagement, event coordination, or related work. Highly adaptable, creative, collaborative and energetic. Enjoy public speaking and interacting with the public Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Experience in leading tours in considered an asset Ability to speak another language is considered an asset Current (or readiness to obtain) Level 1 Emergency First Aid & CPR Certificate. Evening and weekend availability is required.
