Work hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm (75 hours per pay period, 7.5 hours per shift and occasional overtime or after-hours work may be required) Reporting to the Senior Manager Capital, Preventative, and Operating Maintenance Programs, the Project Manager position is responsible for coordinating projects from inception to conclusion. This role leads project stakeholder engagement, scoping, design, tender, scheduling, contract administration, and project closure.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for developing and implementing a wide range of capital maintenance projects based on the capital asset management program, building condition assessments, functional and common area upgrades, and unplanned equipment replacements.
  • Engage and lead engineering and architectural consultants to complete functional, pre-design, detail design, tender, contract administration, and project closure.
  • Reviews engineering reports, contract drawings, and specifications.
  • Leads and maintains project management documents and records, preparing project charters, budgets, schedules, project status and issues, risk status, and management reports.
  • Oversees RFX procurement and tendering process within the provincial and municipal regulatory framework. Managing consultant contracts, supply contracts, and construction contracts
  • Participates in the preparation of commissioning plans and the commissioning of projects.
  • Collaborating cross functionally, this role leads stakeholder engagement with Silvera communities and leadership to assess project needs, constraints, risks, and viability, determining scope, specifications, requirements, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Leads, coaches, and mentors project coordinator developing internal project management capacity.
  • Applies safety legislation in all aspects of work.
Qualifications:
  • Strong technical background, trade certificate and/or an equivalent combination of education and or experience with a minimum combination of 5+ years\' technical and project management experience.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Designation or working towards considered an asset.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven track record in meeting project deadlines and budget constraints
  • Excellent communication skills, tendering, administrating projects, and monitoring consultants and trades.
  • A valid class 5 driver\'s license and use of a personal vehicle for business use is required.
Pre-employment Requirements:
  • Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of building systems such as, but not limited to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire life safety systems, structural, and building envelope, etc.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and other technical drawings.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing, managing, and monitoring request for proposals, contracts, tenders, and agreements; experience using Alberta Purchasing Connection (APC) an asset.
  • Capital asset management planning, estimating, and forecasting experience considered an asset.
  • Intermediate computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Project, Visio, and computer maintenance management software.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Working Conditions:
  • Travel within Calgary will be required.
  • Responding to occasional after-hours emergency situations and carrying a cellular phone will be required.
