You\xe2\x80\x99re an experienced Project Manager who has a minimum of 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience. You have strong leadership skills and experience working collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams. This position will report into the Calgary office, but you may work remotely some or all of the time.

About the role:

In your role, you will have the opportunity to take on a wide variety of tasks. Some examples are:

  • Serving as a primary point of contact for our clients on projects that interact with aquatic environments.
  • Developing meaningful client relationships that facilitate successful delivery of projects and the maintenance of future and ongoing opportunities.
  • Leading dynamic projects that could involve multiple service areas and subcontractors.
  • Leading project deliverables, including quality, technical content, and consistency with client expectations.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship, supporting the development of other staff to build reputation and capacity of the team.
  • Support strategic planning and business objectives, development of business and client relationship efforts, including proposal and work plan development.
  • Promoting a positive work environment through a culture of teamwork and cooperation within the office, region, and between other areas of the organization.
  • Reviewing and preparing client invoices, sub-contractor invoices, tracking project budgets and managing change orders, cost forecasting and accruals preparation.
Qualifications

About you:

You are a passionate and solutions-oriented with the following skills:
  • A university degree in Biology or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 -10 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience managing clients/projects, including budgets and schedules, in an environmental consulting setting.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to think independently and strategically, maintain a positive attitude, be self-motivated and employ a strong work initiative.
Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. * Experience planning and executing biological programs and teams.

Bonus Points

The following attributes may give you a competitive edge:
  • A master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a relevant field.
  • Understanding of freshwater fish, and their habitats, in Alberta.
  • Experience working with provincial regulators and municipal authorities on permits and authorizations related to the aquatic environment
  • Experience working in, managing projects in, or regulatory framework in the Northwest Territories
  • Experience collaborating with Indigenous peoples.
  • Experience undertaking and managing construction environmental monitoring or support services.
  • Experience with offsetting and habitat compensation in aquatic environments.
  • A professional designation (e.g., R.P.Bio or P.Biol.) or eligibility for a designation.
  • Project management experience or a PMP certification.
  • Experience with client liaison and business development.
