Family Service Saskatoon is launching a vital initiative to address the intersection of firearms and intimate partner violence (IPV), with a focus on rural and underserved communities in Saskatchewan. We are seeking a passionate and skilled
Project Facilitator
to lead the development and delivery of educational modules that promote awareness, empower communities, and support access to Red Flag Laws. This role involves designing and facilitating workshops, engaging with diverse stakeholders, and creating accessible learning materials for both the public and professionals. The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering a safer, more informed community. Duties shall be performed in a manner consistent with the overall mission, vision, and values of Family Service Saskatoon. The position reports to the Gender Based Violence Prevention Services Manager.
Duties include:
1. Curriculum Development
Design and develop three learning modules: in-person workshops, online modules, and a professional training module.
Ensure content is inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive, especially for Indigenous and rural populations.
2. Facilitation & Outreach
Deliver workshops and presentations regularly to clients, community agencies, law enforcement, justice systems, educational institutions, Indigenous organizations, and others.
Adapt delivery methods to suit in-person and virtual formats.
3. Partnership Engagement
Collaborate with key partners
Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to support project goals and sustainability.
4. Resource Development & Dissemination
Create print, digital, and recorded materials for public access via the organization's website and social media.
Promote knowledge sharing and long-term accessibility of resources.
5. Monitoring & Evaluation
Track participation, feedback, and outcomes to assess impact and inform ongoing improvements.
Contribute to project reporting and documentation.
6. Team Support & Flexibility
Able to work independently and as part of a team in a collaborative manner.
Perform work outside of regular operating hours, including evenings and/or weekends.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
Degree in social work, education, community development, or a related field.
Areas of Knowledge:
Demonstrated experience in facilitation, curriculum development, and community engagement.
Knowledge of intimate partner violence, firearm-related risks, and Red Flag Laws.
Experience working with survivors of violence or trauma.
Familiarity with justice and law enforcement systems.
Strong understanding of rural and Indigenous community dynamics in Saskatchewan.
Knowledge of community resources and services.
Knowledge of trauma-informed and anti-oppressive practices.
Culturally sensitive and adept at working with Indigenous, immigrant, refugee, and newcomer populations.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in digital tools for online learning and content creation.
Hold a valid driver's license and have consistent access to a reliable personal vehicle.
This position is a temporary, full-time, in-scope term position to March 31, 2027; with the possibility of extension. Final candidates are required to provide satisfactory criminal record checks including a vulnerable sector search. This position is in-scope, CUPE Local 5316.
Compensation:
Pay range of $4,812.87 to $5,312.50 per month based on a bachelor's degree and related experience.
