We are looking for a positive, hard working
PROJECT ESTIMATOR / Coordinator
with some experience directly in our field, to join our team at our office and manufacturing facility located just outside of Airdrie, Alberta. Only local area candidates to please apply.
Specific Description, Duties and Responsibilities:
Excellence in mechanical aptitude in general of equipment packaging, fabrication and communication skills required to complete.
Identifying the labour, equipment and material requirements based off of drawings, specifications, and other related documents.
Preparing cost estimations for labour, material, and other subtrade services.
Updating a cost base database for future projects.
Analyzing and interpreting data accurately.
Creating written quotations for senior project management review.
Ensuring all cost estimation documents are completed according to established deadlines.
Extensive knowledge of valving & Instrumentation, piping, vessels and structural.
Coordinating effectively with internal project managers, quality personnel & engineering.
Communicating effectively with equipment, materials and technical vendors
Actively participate in project scheduling activities.
Conducting self in a professional, ethical manner at all times.
Creating and maintaining the proposal schedule, fabrication schedules & inspection.
Improving estimating Excel based estimating templates.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Engineering Technology, Project Management, or the equivalent combination of technical training and/or professional experience.
Minimum of 2 years' estimating experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to pressure vessels, packaging and related oilfield equipment.
General knowledge of ASME Section VIII, IV, I, B31.3 and B149.3
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and other Fabrication or Design drawings and Client Specifications accurately.
General knowledge of equipment sizing, PSV's, instrumentation, valves and control valves and their suppliers to provide best availability and cost.
Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office software.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to develop an overall cost strategy and execution plan and communicate this estimation execution plan to project management execution plan.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong customer service skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Previous experience with AutoCAD is an asset.
Ability to meet tight deadlines.
Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
