About You

? You have a degree or diploma in construction management or equivalent training and experience. You understand the various stages of low-rise wood frame construction and are confident in what you know.

A Day in the Life

As Project Coordinator, you'll work directly with the Project Manager and the site superintendent to coordinate and manage the status of projects. You'll act as the Project Manager's eyes and ears to keep a pulse on project progress, quality control, budget updates, and more! Here's what you can expect to dig into in this exciting, hands-on role:

Act as the go-to for coordinating highly efficient communications between municipality, architects, consultants, suppliers, and sub trades in order to ensure project deadlines are communicated and met.

OWN budgeting and tendering functions, including monitoring budgets, issuing purchase orders and assessing change orders, ensuring files are up to date and stored accurately, and documenting budget surplus and short.

Assist the Project manager to oOversee schedules and project management, from tracking activities to monitoring project schedules to flagging any steps that need to be made to ensure completion of projects.

Coordinate with sub-trades, ensuring scope document and quotes are accurately reflected and copies of the contracts are provided to all sub-trades on the project.

Conduct extensive research on suppliers, vendors, and materials to find different options and alternatives for projects and call the shots for which combinations are the best fit.

Provide clear visibility into the progress of each project so that the leadership team can make informed decisions that you will support in carrying out.

Your Qualifications

A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a project coordinator role. (Bonus points if you've worked on commercial projects!)

A formal education, such as an undergraduate degree, relating to construction management.

A good understanding of wood frame, low-rise construction.

Ability to track project costs on project budgets and forecast upcoming costs.

Familiarity with Microsoft Project or similar project management software

You know your way around Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on being able to navigate Microsoft Excel efficiently and effectively.

Excellent computer literacy skills with a strong confidence in navigating everyday programs, such as email or the Internet.

Proficient English skills, both written and verbal, and strong communication skills.

Hold a valid BC drivers' license and have access to a car to visit sites on occasion.

It's a Bonus If You Have:

Previous work experience or practice in Carpentry or related trade.

On-site experience is a bonus!

Knowledge of Jonas Construction and/or Bluebeam software.
