TYPE: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

We are looking for a professional to create and maintain project cost, schedules and document supporting successful completion of moderately sized projects with low to medium complexity and risk, safely, with quality, within budget, and on time. Responsibilities: Schedule and Cost Control:
  • Plan, develop, maintain, and adjust project schedules by collaborating with Project Managers and Work Package Managers to meet the cost and schedule forecast.
  • Improve the schedules by using excellent scheduling techniques, excellent cost estimating skills, and a good understanding of project management principles and practices to deliver projects on time and on budget
  • Create and maintain schedules efficiently by using intermediate skills in relevant computer applications such as SAP, scheduling software, and MS Office to improve cost and schedule estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain resource-loaded schedules for assigned projects
  • Translate work packages into detailed network activities with start and end dates
  • Develop and maintain project costs including actuals and forecasting by collaborating with Project Managers
  • Identify variances against various baselines using cost variance reports and discusses with Work Package Managers or Project Managers to determine if change notices are required
  • Discuss and explain schedule, costs, and resources to others as requested
Document Control:
  • Maintains information in accordance Policies, Practices, and Standards, including performance of routine checks.
  • Support the project manager with maintaining the project workspace, supply chain workspace and other project specific sites.
  • Can administer SharePoint including security and permission
  • Manages Document Control including transmittal process, meeting minutes, correspondence logs, and metadata entry.
  • Assists the project team with retrieval of information, meeting notes, and document control training
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of project control experience for capital project, preference for the power industry (Generation, Transmission or Distribution).
  • Diploma of Technology or related field; A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Engineering, Business, Science or related discipline an asset
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills with good working knowledge in scheduling software such Primavera, computer applications such as SAP, SharePoint, MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project), Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent working knowledge of scheduling techniques, principles, and practices
  • Excellent analytical and cost estimating skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of Document control best practices
  • Broad understanding of project management principals and practice
  • Basic working knowledge of the life cycle of construction projects and typical scheduling and resource requirements of various phases, engineering design principals and practices
