Role & Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the scope definition and prepare the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
  • Work closely with the Section Head Program Management Infrastructure Projects in the preparation and maintenance of baseline and working project schedules, and control of schedule changes
  • Analyze the schedule performance of the assigned Infrastructure Projects, determine variances, monitor trends, recommend improvements, take corrective actions and implement changes
  • Work closely with the assigned Infrastructure Projects Costs team in order to obtain actual cost expenditure information and measure project progress performance using Earned Value Analysis
  • Coordinate and control changes to scope and cost and ensure related approval and configuration management documentation is in place before baselines are adjusted
  • Coordinate the production and maintenance of risk registers
  • Perform schedule, cost and/or risk analysis when required
  • Coordinate the resource and cost loading of schedules
  • Support Project team in the planning and control framework, including definition of the hierarchies, coding and account structures required for tracking, analysis, and performance measurement
  • Verify the legitimacy of changes, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions
  • Support Project Costs team in the cost estimating and budgeting processes when required
  • Preparing sections of the project progress report
  • Chair/participate in project review meetings and make presentations of project information
  • Arrange meetings
  • Prepare Monthly Project Report (MPR), and review with Project Director and Project Manager and present where necessary
  • Prepare and submit project accruals
  • Initiate i-Requisitions, prepare supporting documents (Briefing note, PR check list), follow-up the approval process
  • Ensure project documents are filed in atom/document control (as required)
  • Ensure actual to P6 monthly
  • Ensure project documents are available in supporting databases (SharePoint, Collaborative Portal)
  • Help ensure project APWB milestones and deliverables are met
  • Amend Purchase Orders when required
  • Work with contractors & consultants on construction schedule and incorporate contractor schedule into the master P6 schedule
  • Conduct Critical Path analyses with project team and provide corrective actions or solution for deviation
  • Receive progress update from contractor and project team and update P6 master schedule and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements:
  • University degree or college diploma in a relevant field from an accredited school and a minimum of 4-6 years of progressively more responsible work experience in Project Management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles and processes, as recognized by the Project Management Institute (PMI), and a proven ability to apply this knowledge in the project control of large and complex undertakings, especially those related to scope, schedule, cost, risk, and change control
  • Designation as Project Management Professional (PMP) is desirable
  • Formal Project Management training would be an asset
  • Advanced-intermediate level capability in the development of project schedules
  • Proven ability to conduct variance analysis on schedule and cost performance
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Analysis
  • Working knowledge of the computer-based applications used for project management purposes (i.e., Primavera or Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, etc.)
  • Project cost management experience
  • Project risk management experience and/or knowledge would be a strong asset
  • Strong awareness of safety
  • Good organizational and planning skills. Well-developed ability to assess requirements, set priorities, define action plans, and meet deadlines within a dynamic project environment
  • Good interpersonal skills. Able to form effective relationships within the project partners and stakeholder organizations and to use his/her network to accomplish goals, solve problems, and improve planning and control systems
  • Good oral and written communication capability. Able to clearly organize and articulate ideas in project plans and reports and in-group settings
  • Experience in delivering presentations and chairing meetings
  • Ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines under pressure and work effectively with others and carry out instructions accurately
  • Adaptive, able to respond to changing conditions quickly
  • Highly self-motivated with a positive attitude and motivated to achieve continued customer satisfaction
