Lang Wilson Practice in Architecture Culture (LWPAC)

As Project Architect, you will use the company\xe2\x80\x99s building and technology platform to to ensure projects are delivered consistently and effectively to achieve project milestones. You will work collaboratively with the Intelligent City and LWPAC team, clients, consultants and relevant authorities through all phases of project development from conceptual design to contract administration and close-out, with a focus on the earlier design stages.

Education & Qualifications, Required:

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree at an accredited school in Architecture or related field
  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Architecture
  • Registered Architect in British Columbia or eligibility to become registered

Skills & Experience, Required:

  • 5 to 7 years as a licensed architect, with industry experience in architectural design
  • Possess a portfolio of completed projects and designs
  • Proficiency in Revit modeling
  • Highly skilled in design development and presenting ideas clearly
  • Strong knowledge of BC Building Code, VBBL, and permitting processes
  • Good knowledge of construction contract administration policies, procedures and concepts
  • Technical background with understanding of building Engineering

Skills & Experience, considered an asset but could be learned on the job:

  • Experience with prefabrication or manufacturing
  • Proficient in building systems, drawings, specifications, and materials
  • Familiarity with McNeel Rhinoceros, Grasshopper
  • Experience with Sustainability, LEED, an asset

The Role & Responsibilities:

  • Understand and expand Intelligent City\'s product offering, and work with the teams to apply the systems and technologies developed in the company
  • Lead or assist in project leadership
  • Coordinate contractors, consultants, and vendor assignments
  • Identify and solve technical problems (ie; planning solutions, sustainability strategies, code solutions, and/or building envelope detailing)
  • Prepare preliminary design studies and adaptations of alternatives for review.
  • Prepare drawings for schematic design and design development.
  • Perform site analysis, including survey of existing conditions and field measurements.
  • Prepare development and building permit applications and tender documents
  • Provide technical expertise and support to business development efforts
  • Prepare design and/or technical working drawings, in AutoCad or Revit.
  • Use 3-D technology to graphically describe the intent and massing of the project
  • Represent the company at conferences, trade events, customer meetings.
  • Mentor and direct junior staff with responsibility for oversight

Important to Mention!

  • This position is full-time at our Vancouver, BC Office, with the option to work 1 days from home
  • Willingness to commute on occasion at the Delta, BC manufacturing facility
  • Flexibility and eligibility to travel on occasion will be required, including to the US
  • Successful candidates may be required to submit to a background check.

LWPAC was co-founded in 1999 by Principals Oliver Lang and Cindy Wilson, and is the sister company to Intelligent City. The two companies work closely together to deliver the vision of productized and platform-based buildings.
