What is the opportunity:
The Program Manager is responsible for leading the Careers in Energy team in the delivery of the Careers in Energy program ensuring that goals, objectives, and priorities of the Division are met in accordance with all funding agreements and Energy Safety Canada (ESC) processes and procedures. The Program Manager is also responsible for coaching and mentoring team members and supporting them in the successful execution of their project activities.
What will you do:

  • Oversees the day-to-day planning, development, and execution of the Careers in Energy Division’s program. Responsible for leading, mentoring, and coaching members of the team to ensure successful execution of all projects and activities.
  • Responsible for the development and management of project plans, deliverables, budgets, measurement tracking and reporting to funders as outlined by all project funding agreements. Ensures the program budgets, vendor/consultant contracts, and cash flow management, including invoicing and payment tracking, align and comply with all requirements of ESC and project funders.
  • Oversees research and data analysis collection and leads/supports data and information validation and consultation meetings with stakeholders.
  • Supports business development activities by leading/supporting funding proposal writing and/or other activities.
  • Other duties as required

What you need to succeed:
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Economics, Business or related field
  • Project Management Designation (PMP) completed or in progress preferred
  • Strong proposal writing and budget management skills
  • 7+ years of work experience with labour market analysis or business analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative research with knowledge of various research methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience managing a project team
  • Experience working in and/or having an understanding of the energy industry in Canada
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and contractors
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to synthesize and present research and statistical information to various audiences
  • Good organizational skills and detail oriented
  • High energy, flexible and ability to take initiative
  • Has the ability to build and lead a collaborative team
  • Is results-oriented and enjoys the challenge of working in a deadline driven environment
