Your opportunity:
The Master of Science in Sustainability Management (MScSM) Program Coordinator will work closely with the Director, Master of Science in Sustainability Management and other IMI staff in support of program administration and recruitment strategies. This includes overseeing and coordinating recruitment of prospective students, including promoting the program and advising prospective applicants, as well as devising recruitment strategies. The Program Coordinator also executes all the components of program administration relating to classes, electives, course and elective support, exchange and facilitation of Faculty support. The Program Coordinator works closely with the Placement Manager to provide robust support to students, Faculty, alumni, prospective students and other external stakeholders. The Program Coordinator plays a key role in providing holistic student engagement and support, contributing to thestrength and success of the students and Program overall. The Program Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting and strengthening the unique culture of MScSM - the culture of cooperating, respecting, supporting, caring, and understanding each member that includes students, staff, faculty members, alumni, and other external members.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising potential applicants, students, parents, and/or guidance counselors on admissions criteria and processes by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences.
  • Reviewing and assessing admissions applications, including analyzing, scoring, ranking applications and ensuring accurate and complete; conducting post-admission analysis.
  • Promoting programs at recruitment events and delivering presentations.
  • Coordinating the preparation and distribution of program and/or course material.
  • Advising students on academic and/or financial matters by providing options and consequences incorporating personal circumstances impacting academic success and an understanding of an individual\'s background.
  • Maintaining information on digital platforms and/or printed materials, including content development.
  • Coordinating the recruitment of teaching assistants, course instructors, sessional lecturers and/or stipend instructors.
  • Directing the activities of a single ongoing staff-appointed employee.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum four years related administrative experience preferably in a university or other educational environment.
  • Experience in the administration and interpretation of graduate and other academic policies and procedures.
  • Experience developing and maintaining websites.
  • Experience in the areas of registration, record management, and student admissions.
  • Experience with liaising with faculty and university staff.
  • Experience working with Acorn/ROSI or equivalent student information system software.
  • Experience with and administering various collective agreements.
  • Familiarity with key graduate functions including admissions, registration, timetabling and enrolment.
  • Knowledge of graduate policies from the School of Graduate Studies and related guidelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications (verbal and written), judgement, organizational and analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Advanced computer skills including PC or Mac; Microsoft Office Suite, Teams/Zoom, desktop publishing software.
  • Ability to effectively manage competing deadlines and priorities.
  • Enthusiastic self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently, showing initiative and good judgement.
  • Skill and sensitivity in working with diverse groups of people.
