The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team facilitates and advances person-centered care through evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies and programs that are designed provincially and implemented locally to enhance collaborative learning and practice. The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team takes a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration with a focus on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families and communities. Through strong partnerships with the academic sector, regulators, and government, the Interprofessional Practice and Learning team has an integral role in influencing and operationalizing health system priorities.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Zone Director, Interprofessional Practice and Learning, the Professional Practice Leader (PPL) facilitates and advances excellence in quality person centred care and practice through the integration of a variety of services aimed at supporting and enhancing professional practice. With a focus on Management and Practice Development of our Point of Care Practice Team (e.g., Clinical Nurse Educators), this role will take a collaborative leadership role in fostering a culture of learning with a focus on clinical practice, clinical leadership, inter/intra professional collaboration. The PPL is a member of the leadership team and is responsible for the operation, functioning and quality of the assigned Interprofessional Practice and Learning services. The primary responsibilities of this role relate to program leadership, human resource management, fiscal management, development and assurance of professional standards are to be aligned with the established standards of the Quality Framework in IPP&L. In keeping with our promise to provide people centred care, the PPL engages primary health care, acute and tertiary care, mental health, public health, leadership community and clinical teams. As well, they will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of a model for inter/intra professional practice and standards consistent with health professional regulatory bodies and associations. The PPL provides leadership to the organization with respect to professional practice issues at the individual, team, program, and system level. They will work with all members of the Interprofessional team to promote evidence informed best practices in a culture of person centred care.

Travel will be required within the zone and to other areas as necessary.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Masters in Nursing or relevant advanced education in health related studies required (consideration will be given to qualified candidates currently enrolled in a Master\'s program or those with demonstrated accomplishments in leading system level change, including fiscal accountability) or willingness to obtain
  • Current registration with the relevant college/association required
  • A minimum of three (3) years progressive leadership experience required (i.e., previous management and/or demonstrated leadership experience in an advanced practice role as Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Educator or Professional Practice Coordinator)
  • A minimum of five (5) years clinical experience in related health professional discipline with operational or practice leadership experience required
  • Demonstrated experience in initiating & managing multiple projects
  • Demonstrated success in working with teams and team development
  • Demonstrated aptitude for progressive. creative and innovative thinking
  • Demonstrated experience with designing, implementing and evaluating traditional and nontraditional education programming; inclusive of developing learning objectives
  • Possesses a vision of person centred care
  • Demonstrated success in leading change
  • Experience in a unionized environment preferred
  • Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work collaboratively with professional and community individuals with high level of judgment, creativity, diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality

  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Salary Information

$43.91 - $58.34 hourly
$85,619 - $113,762 annually
