We were founded in 2012 by a group of passionate craft beer enthusiasts and have quickly become a staple in the Canadian craft beer scene. As a leading member of the production team, the Production Lead will be responsible for maintaining efficient and smooth operation of the packaging lines as close to the daily schedule as possible at Parallel 49 Brewery\xe2\x80\x99s production brewery in Vancouver, BC. Responsibilities include ensuring a safe work environment, monitoring packaged products to ensure a high level of quality, training of new department members, cleaning and sanitization of the plant and equipment, upholding Parallel 49\xe2\x80\x99s quality standards, and proper use of mechanical equipment.


We\'re hiring a permanent Production Lead. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 1:30pm - 10:00pm.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate which products the other production members will package according to the orders and schedule

  • Hold daily huddles with the team to communicate updates, daily tasks, and delegations.

  • Oversee and ensure all daily and weekly tasks get completed

  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other departments

  • Monitors staff training, performance and provides coaching as required while on shift

  • Tear-down, clean-up, set-up packaging lines

  • Liaise with the maintenance department for equipment repair and maintenance

  • Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality

  • Train new staff in job duties and safety procedures

  • Assist Supervisor in completing performance reviews, and report any employee performance, attendance or tardiness concerns to the Supervisor

  • Oversee the department operation while on shift in the absence of the Supervisor
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience is required for external applicants

  • 2+ years of consumer packaged goods production experience is required for external applicants

  • 1+ years of forklift, power truck or narrow aisle lift experience is an asset

  • Experience in a brewery setting including setting up hoses, checking carbonation, using CIP systems or any brewery packaging would be considered an asset

  • Experience in the food and beverage industry preferred

  • Experience Microsoft Excel is required

  • Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Working Conditions
  • Work is performed indoors
  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time
