About Us Bridgewall is a Canadian manufacturer of glass office partitions. We are a family business located just outside of Winnipeg. We work with interior designers, architects, and contractors to provide clients with high performance acoustic glass partitions. Bridgewall supplies and installs projects across Canada and is known for a 3-week lead time, superior acoustic control, and a beautiful product design. Job Summary The production engineer will be responsible for taking new product designs from design to production as well as making engineering improvements to designs when required. This position will require hands on involvement in the fabrication of projects including the use of equipment, and assisting with and overseeing the fabrication of doors and partitions. The ideal person for this role will have relevant experience and capacity to plan and implement manufacturing processes, define work procedures, write fabrication and assembly instructions, research & specify equipment and systems to produce our products and to assist and lead the fabrication team in day-to-day activities. Responsibilities and Duties
- Oversee manufacturing operations and be involved (hands-on work) as needed
- Lead continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, including the design & manufacture of jigs, implementing optimal manufacturing procedures, and training production staff
- Manage production planning & scheduling and ensure production deadlines are met
- Manage & take a hands-on role in product mock-ups in the factory or on jobsites when required
- Develop new solutions and modify & improve existing product designs when required
- Work with senior mechanical engineer when bringing new products from design into production
- Assist with CNC machining & programming as needed
- Take responsibility for manufacturing equipment maintenance
- Take responsibility for inventory management
- Purchasing materials
- Attention to detail, precision and quality
- Ability to balance multiple priorities, work well in a changing environment
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Expertise in Solidworks
- Familiar with GD&T
- Hands on ability, ability to use tools and build things
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Mechanical aptitude to develop and test prototypes
- Ability to use a miter saw/upcut saw
- Ability to program and operate a CNC machine is an asset
- Ability to use AutoCAD is an asset
