Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Operations Technical Services, the Production Engineer is to provide advice and monitor the production and efficiency of the plant units in a 3-month to 1-year time frame, as well as provide Process Engineering support to the operating plants.

The position will be for approx. 9 months and based out of our Fort Saskatchewan plant site.

Accountabilities

  • Conduct monthly consumption indices reporting and review.
  • Prepare an annual consumption index budget for operations.
  • Provide monthly input to the metallurgical balance.
  • Assist with the completion of Environmental Incident Reports.
  • Review and apply continuous improvement to process alarms using the Alarm Management system.
  • Advise on compliance to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Support creation and review of operations standards and procedures that are in place that deliver zero harm to employees, the environment and neighboring communities.
  • Provide process engineering design and implementation manager functions to Expense MOCs projects.
  • Monitor daily plant operation/performance and report on daily key performance indicators.
  • Lead and support day-to-day plant troubleshooting.
  • Lead continuous improvement
  • Provide support for shutdown and maintenance activity planning and execution.
  • Provide engineering support for plant trials.
  • Conduct equipment performance monitoring and reporting.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • P. Eng or EIT designation with APEGA
  • Ability to develop and implement a 3 to 12-month business plan
  • Effective interpersonal/communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and influence effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
