Attention Brewers!

We are looking for a brewer to join our production team!

The Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery leads the Craft Beer Revolution in Ontario. Brewing radical Beers and creative Ales right on the waterfront in downtown Barrie since 2004. In our 35HL brewhouse we brew 24 hours a day, 5 days a week, along with centrifuge runs, and cellar work. Each member of the brewing team will also participate in the creative process of developing new beers.

We are currently in the market for a new brewer which would include daily tasks including, but not limited to:

Brewhouse Operations (all aspects of beer and wort production), including CIP, Brewing, Tank and Yeast preparation. Cellaring (includes tank cleaning, sanitation, centrifuge run and setup). Monitoring of fermentation & other cellaring duties (includes checking gravities, cropping of yeast, dry hopping, etc.). Cleaning and Sanitation practices throughout Brewhouse (lots of scrubbing). Work closely with brewing team to achieve desired quality and production targets. Work with the production management team to achieve desired quality and production targets. Work with, and in, other departments throughout the brewery as needed. Provide input, ideas and concepts that contribute towards new beers, process, and safety improvements.

Position Requirements:

A degree or diploma in Brewing, or fermentation science is an asset. At least 1 year experience in professional brewing, centrifuge operation, and fermentation. Demonstrate a positive team player demeanor with a great attitude. Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and be detail oriented. Physically fit. Capable of lifting 25kg repeatedly. Excellent communication skills. Superior work organization and time management skills. Must be able to work flexible shifts with varying hours including mornings, afternoons, and eventually overnights and some weekends. Bring creative thinking, innovation, and problem-solving skills. Take pride in the brewhouse and be able to keep it in a tour ready state, by diligently focusing on cleaning, each day.
