Job Description

OVERVIEW



Reporting to the Product Manager, the Product Analyst is responsible for the design and execution of functional test plans, works with deployment teams to triage issues, and assist in the definition and breakdown of product features. The right candidate will execute test cases against functionality being delivered to validate that requirements are being met, triage and breakdown defects and participate in the definition and refinement of new features. This will involve working with a team of engineers, architects, analysts, SMEs and designers through the development of a product from conception to delivery. Additionally, this role extends to assisting with the release process and coordinating with our support and deployment teams in releasing software into test and production environments.

This is an exciting role to become a product expert on the Maplewave Platform with multiple career path options including Solution Analyst, Technical Analyst and Product Management.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES



Testing



Create test plans based on product features / functions Execute functional and regression testing against software deliverables Report software defects to the development team Work with deployment teams to triage and identify root cause issues Define and document Bugs for development team

Documentation



Document features descriptions Participate in development of user guides Participate in the documentation of architecture and deployment guideline

Planning / Design



Help to define User Stories and new features for development team Participate in milestone reviews and review deliverables with the product team Participate in product updates Participate in release planning with product manager(s)

QUALIFICATIONS



Education (preferred):

Post-secondary education in a technical or business discipline

Skills and Competencies (preferred):



Ability to work under pressure Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Professional / Technical Knowledge:



Must be proficient in commonly used business software (MS Office suite) Experience with software development tools such as Jira and Gitlab Experience using Linux commands SQL skills are considered an asset Previous experience in a telecommunications environment is considered an asset Previous experience in a retail environment is considered an asset

Experience

3+ years in a role in an information technology discipline including experience with software testing and documentation, implementing enterprise software and knowledge of various computer software programs and hardware.

Do you agree to work at least 50% of the time in the main office, located in Dartmouth, NS? The regular work week is Monday to Friday, from 9AM to 5PM. However, it may be required to flex our schedules to accommodate our global clients from time to time. Are you comfortable occasionally adjusting your schedule to support our client needs?
