The Coffee Mine Project ("Coffee") is a proposed hard-rock gold mine. Coffee will be a premier, high-grade, open pit heap leach gold mine project, built to world class standards, located in Canada\'s Yukon Territory. Temporary Procurement & Accounts Payable Clerk

This position will be the key liaison for Newmont\'s Coffee Project with Supply Chain and Finance functions. This role will be semiremote and requires access to an internet connection. The expected duration for this role is 6-8 months.

Essential Duties

  • Support project team in providing forecast of procurement needs to Supply Chain
  • Liaise with the sourcing / procurement person in charge to initiate the vendor setup and maintenance in SAP
  • Provide bidding requirements from the project team or sole source justification to Supply Chain
  • Support project team in creating the purchase requisition in SAP
  • Validate vendors\' billings with the project team before creating the goods receipt or Service Entry Sheet in SAP
  • Assist the project team in completing the Non Order Invoice request form when it is applicable
  • Manage AP inbox workflow on a daily basis, send invoice for approval, support project team in following up with Accounts Payable on invoice or claim issues
  • Reconcile GR/IR account, follow up on outstanding items
  • Address project team\'s inquires and contact Supply Chain when required
  • Assist project team in month end cost accruals
  • Liaise with vendors, Supply Chain, Accounts Payable, and Finance representatives
  • Assist with other projects and administrative duties as required
Training & Experience
  • Two-year College Diploma in Accounting or Business
  • 2 years of full-cycle accounts payable experience using ERP system
  • Able and willing to commit to the duration of the contract at a full-time capacity.
  • Knowledge of or experience with SAP would be an asset
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and attention to detail are essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Clear communicator with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Self-starter, and dedication to delivering high quality work in timely manner
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality
Working Conditions

This role would be semi-remote and requires access to an internet connection. Local candidates could work from the Whitehorse Office.
