Due to continued business growth, we are looking for a passionate and curious client-focused Process Design Specialist to support Vancouvers Wastewater Solutions teams. As part of our dynamic team, you will perform a variety of municipal wastewater treatment engineering work in the planning, design, and construction phases of projects. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a variety of treatment processes including conventional and advanced chemical, physical, and biological processes such coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, secondary biological treatment, nutrient removal and recovery, membrane systems, disinfection, and solids handling/stabilization processes. We are seeking emerging leaders to continue developing their technical skills within our large portfolio of challenging wastewater treatment projects. In this role, you'll work on projects that involve evaluating and selecting the best treatment approach to solve our clients' challenges, and planning and designing wastewater treatment facility upgrades and expansions. You will be responsible for preparing technical reports and proposals, developing detailed engineering design drawings and specifications, and conducting site work at wastewater treatment facilities in the GTA and Southwestern Ontario. You’ll be working mainly from home (unless you prefer coming into our Toronto office), with the expectation to travel for client /site meetings and occasional team meetings. Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering
  • Holds Professional Engineer membership
  • At least 4 years of progressive experience and knowledge of wastewater treatment equipment, systems, and processes
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills are required
  • Municipal wastewater design or construction experience is desired
  • Equipment sizing and selection experience is desired
  • Wastewater process modelling experience with modelling software (e.g., BioWin, Sumo, GPS-X) is an asset
  • Hydraulic modelling experience is an asset
  • Positive attitude, dependable, with the ability to work on your own and as part of a team to meet deadlines
  • Desire to grow personally and professionally with each new wastewater process engineering task
