We currently have a Temporary Full Time (until approx. June 2023) opportunity for a LMS and eLearning Design Specialist in the Organizational Development & Leadership at our Bayview Campus.

Hours of Work:

Weekday: Days, 8 hr, As per schedule
Summary Of Duties:

Classification: Temporary Full Time (until approx. June 2023)

  • Reporting to the Director, Social Accountability and Organizational Development & Leadership and working in a team-based environment; contributes to the development, realization and continuous improvement of Sunnybrook's technology enabled learning strategies and services.
  • Provides corporate, clinical and other user group clients with: Multi-Year Educational Service and Program Planning support services; eLearning authoring (instructional design and development services); and, day to day Associate Registrar/LMS Administration services such as education technology standards, policies and processes, training and communications administration. Develops and provides education and training services for developer and user groups.
  • Multi-Year Education Service and Program Planning Services: Provides information and consultation services to a variety of user groups in multi-year education service and program planning as it relates to technology enabled learning.
  • eLearning Authoring Services: As the first point of contact, works with subject matter experts to create, deliver and/or facilitate the development of formal and informal learning content and experiences that meet business and clinical objectives and the needs of the end users. Advises clients on: best practises in instructional design and eLearning authoring; standards; the limitations and possibilities of the technologies; Sunnybrook procurement policies; eLearning project and contract management etc.
  • Manages or coaches' projects from initiation to closure; develops and/or coaches initiation /charter documentation, work plans, communication processes, and scope change processes; secures and/or coordinates appropriate resources.
  • Recommends, utilizes, provides instruction on and/or coaches authoring tools, instructional media, virtual instructor led training, simulations, social media etc. Contributes to and implements visual and other design standards. Assists developers in creating instructional interactivity and in developing visually effective and engaging eLearning. Maintains source files. Helps research, plan, acquire and support developer resources. Stays abreast of trends and developments.
  • Associate Registrar/LMS Administration Services: Key member of standards and change management teams. Responsible for day-to-day LMS-related processes and administration such as explaining standards, reviewing/evaluating courses/learning objects, testing authored courses and tests, updating the LMS catalogue, publishing courses, coaching local administrators in how to use the LMS features, providing LMS and eLearning authoring related problem-solving support to developers, managers and learners. Liaises with Sunnybrook IT Helpdesk staff and external vendors. Ensures system training and training documentation is up to date and accessible. Researches and provides input to technology purchases. Supports e-learning centre access and security.
Qualifications / Skills:

Community College Diploma

Outstanding Customer Service Skills essential

Medical Terminology course

Candidates who have successfully completed the Hospital's PAA training and successfully met the requirements of the Performance Review and Development Plan (i.e. confirmed in the PAA role) will be given priority consideration

One year of Administrative/Business experience required, in a health care setting preferred

Demonstrated Patient-Focused Care/Customer Service behaviour

Working knowledge of Excel

Working knowledge of hospital systems including Kronos ESP/RESP, PAS, Quadramed, SunnyCare, OR Manager -PICIS & TrackOR application preferred

Keyboarding at 40 w.p.m. or data entry of 106 net keystrokes/minute

Ability to organize work effectively, and work at a fast pace in an unpredictable environment

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
