Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, and as part of the human resources team, this position is a generalist opportunity focused on recruitment and retention, organizational growth and development, and staff training and development for Kwanlin D\xc3\xbcn First Nation (KDFN). The incumbent is responsible for delivering a full range of integrated human resource services to the KDFN including support to departmental directors and managers in the areas of departmental program and service delivery growth and change, job description writing, recruitment and selection activities, corporate orientation and documenting of new employees. The position facilitates employee wellness and engagement activities, succession and retention, training and capacity development, and assists with policy interpretation and implementation. This integral role is an exciting opportunity to leverage your skills in Organizational Development/Training. Required Qualifications (what we look for on your resume):
  • Degree/diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • Considerable experience leading recruitment and selection processes and activities;
  • Experience reviewing, and advising on job description development;
  • Experience providing advice, guidance and support in a variety of human resources-related areas such as training and capacity development, organizational design, and workplace wellness;
  • Experience developing training plans, delivering orientations and other human-resource-related workshops is an asset; and
  • Experience conducting employment-related research and compiling data for reporting purposes is an asset.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to foster relationships based on trust, mutual respect and understanding;
  • Knowledge of and experience interpreting a variety of human resource and labour-specific legislation and policy;
  • Analytical and Strategic Thinking
  • Project Management; including strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of residential school effects, trauma and trauma-informed practice is important in the role.
Required knowledge and skills (what we assess): Knowledge of Kwanlin D\xc3\xbcn First Nation governance structure, our community, heritage and culture, social structure, language and traditions, goals, and aspirations are essential for success in this position. Conditions of employment: Acceptable criminal check is required, A valid Class 5 Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License and personal vehicle are assets. Job Requirements: Occasional travel within and outside of Yukon. There may be the occasional requirement to work evenings or weekends. Additional Application Instructions
