Department Overview

Enterprise Business Process Management Specialist is an emerging enterprise mandate in TD. Our Vision is to develop and maintain a single source of process truth enabling operational excellence, resiliency, and transformation across the Bank.

Achievement of this Vision will require the BPM team to design, execute and deliver:

  • An enterprise process repository that represents one source of truth across the organization
  • Consistent process mapping standards, levels, and taxonomy
  • Process change governance ensuring all key stakeholders are advised when processes are being changed
  • The ability to link data to process maps making them a critical diagnostic tool in identifying operational issues, compliance gaps and D&A investment opportunities.
  • The ability to link process together to build out the E2E and Value Stream Views to ensure upstream and downstream impacts are captured
The BPM team will be aligned within the EPE (Enterprise Process Engineering) Enablement Team (aka the EPE Centre Team). The Enterprise Process Engineering (EPE) team leads the Continuous Process Improvement, Lean Six Sigma and Business Process Management efforts within TD Bank. EPE supports various TDBG businesses in their process re-engineering deployments, focusing on data-driven decisions to improve the customer and colleague experience by improving processes from an end-to-end perspective.

Job Requirements

Position Related Skills & Experience
  • Strong working knowledge and experience working with vendor procured applications
  • Experience with process modeling, BPMN2.0 and / or ARIS is an asset
  • Experience as a business owner of an application and being the conduit between TD's Technology Owner and the Vendor's Technology support team
  • Experience in the BPM space previously and a general understanding process mapping fundamentals

Degree or Diploma in any of the following: Business, Engineering, Finance, or similar school of knowledge

About This Role

We are looking for someone to manage a diverse portfolio of business management activities for complex or high-risk functional areas. Draw on what you know to generate policies, processes and procedures that address TD's business management, strategy and governance objectives. Find ways to influence the strategic direction of the business management function (and interact regularly with management).

  • Help shape TD's business management function's strategic direction by bringing strategies to life in support of TD's overall business vision.
  • Plan, lead, manage and/or oversee a diverse set of activities and integrated them effectively across multiple functional areas.
  • Share your subject matter expertise by contributing to complex, wide-ranging enterprise-wide, cross-function or business-specific projects and initiatives and play an instrumental role in identifying, designing and testing solutions and supporting their implementation.
  • Grow as a thought leader, encourage and facilitate discussion with executive audiences (with outputs which may include: roadmap, strategic plan/deliverables/frameworks, short- and long-term goals).
  • Pinpoint issues, seize opportunity, know the trends and provide specialized business management advice to senior management and respective teams (plus raise industry, external and internal, enterprise and business awareness).
  • Advocate for and manage relationships with corporate and control functions.
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes and sound infrastructure an in alignment with risk appetite.
  • Assess, identify and escalate key issues appropriately, recommend actions.
  • Respect enterprise frameworks and methodologies that relate to business management activities.
  • Ensure business operations comply with internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, duty segregation, transaction approvals, and physical asset control).
  • Own your reputation as a subject matter expert by identifying risk and providing guidance for complex situations.
  • Drive relevant governance meetings or committees and related deliverables and outcomes.
  • Lead, facilitate or actively generate action and remediation plans that address performance, risk and governance issues.
