JOB SUMMARY

The Principal Enterprise Architect is an individual contributor who ensures technology architecture capabilities, solutions, and processes are enabling the business strategy for their area within Syneos Health. This role acts as both a champion of change and the facilitator of empowerment to help guide business and technology decision making. The Principal Enterprise Architect reports to the Director, Enterprise Architecture.

Within the Application Lifecycle Management framework, the Principal Enterprise Architect is responsible for all enterprise architecture for their assigned Syneos technology area. The Principal Enterprise Architect works with stakeholders, both leadership and subject matter experts, to build a holistic view of the organization\'s strategy, processes, information, and technology assets. The Principal Enterprise Architect takes his/her knowledge and ensures that the business and IT are in alignment and that solutions meet business needs while recommending and driving standards focused on measured results. The Principal Enterprise Architect links the business mission, strategy, and processes for their area to the IT strategy, and documents this using multiple architectural models or views that show how the current and future needs of an organization will be met in an efficient, sustainable, agile, and adaptable manner.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

\xc2\xb7 Develop technology strategy, future state architecture, and roadmap for assigned area.

\xc2\xb7 Evangelize technical capabilities that will directly impact our ability to improve solution velocity and create more value for Syneos Health.

\xc2\xb7 Understand and help rationalize the application portfolio to ensure that projects and assets do not duplicate functionality or diverge from strategies.

\xc2\xb7 Partner with leaders to align technology strategy and planning with a division\'s business goals.

\xc2\xb7 Assist in the evaluation of appropriate systems tools and technologies and make selection recommendations.

\xc2\xb7 Keep abreast of emerging technologies and determine how they can be applied to enhance operational efficiencies.

\xc2\xb7 Work with solutions architect and development leads to ensure that solution architectures meet enterprise standards and are aligned to the overall strategy.

\xc2\xb7 Maximize business intelligence required to manage the business at both macro & micro levels and to support Business Unit / regional-specific needs.

\xc2\xb7 Automate routine business transactions and eliminates data administration redundancies through systems integration.

\xc2\xb7 Work with all Business Unit and governance committees as required ensuring that key business processes are mapped and understood so data can be utilized in a manner that will provide clear information for Business Unit leaders and managers.

  • Thoroughly document enterprise architecture using standard architecture models.
\xc2\xb7 Support the development of business cases.

\xc2\xb7 Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

\xc2\xb7 Minimal travel may be required (up to 25%).

Qualifications
  • Ten or more years of experience as an Enterprise Architect in a large, distributed computing environment.
  • Experience as an Enterprise Architect in the pharmaceutical industry, in drug development and/or in drug commercialization preferred.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Data and Integration technologies and patterns.
\xc2\xb7 Big Picture thinking- the ability to see how parts interact with the whole.

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of the business division for which the architecture is being developed.

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture principles and frameworks.

\xc2\xb7 Strong technical background:

o Deep experience with proven success in applications, information, infrastructure, or integrated solutions.

o Broad experience across each area.

\xc2\xb7 Interpersonal and leadership skills - servant leadership, collaboration, facilitation, negotiation skills, and influential impact.

\xc2\xb7 Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand.

\xc2\xb7 Project and program management planning and organizational skills.

\xc2\xb7 Consultative and results driven.

\xc2\xb7 Time management and prioritization.

\xc2\xb7 LeanIX experience preferred.
