Position Overview:

With the support and guidance of the Commercial Manager, International, the Pricing Associate will assist with international pricing activities for Hensall Global's freight forwarding and logistics services. This position is responsible to investigate and negotiate competitive rates and provide accurate and timely pricing solutions. They are required to keep up to date on services, rate changes and industry trends and maintain detailed costing and pricing data for internal team members. This position requires analytical skills, attention to detail and a willingness to learn about international shipping markets and services.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Support international pricing activities across all modes of transportation.

Communicate with carriers to collect rate quotes and confirm service details.

Analyze data and determine the most competitive and optimal solutions.

Understand customer requirements and align them with appropriate service options.

Build market knowledge including trade lanes, routing, pricing trends and shipment history.

Understand dimensional factors and mode-specific considerations across various origin/destination pairs.

Coordinate with internal teams to ensure rates, routings and service options are accurately detailed from pricing through to costing.

Distribute rate quotations in a timely and professional manner in response to daily customer requests.

Maintain on-going communication with carriers to stay informed on rate changes, service levels, available options and pricing updates.

Manage and update monthly customer rate templates and ensure timely delivery to customers.

Investigate pricing-related invoice discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.

Approve, decline, or further investigate additional service charge claims as necessary.

Develop and maintain long-term working relationships with transportation providers.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Post-Secondary education in business, finance or related program.

Experience in transportation, international freight forwarding and/or third-party logistics is an asset.

Understanding of freight forwarding terminology, concepts and industry standards.

Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).

Ability to take initiative, solve problems and manage time effectively.

Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.

Analytical thinker with strong negotiation skills.

Ability to prioritize, multi-task and adapt to a dynamic environment.

A positive and professional attitude and a collaborative team approach.

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $41,000.00-$51,000.00 per year
