Position Summary:



The Client Support & Pricing Associate is a great opportunity for an individual looking to join an innovative organization and enjoy working in a changing and fast-paced work environment. This position will interface between customers, our transportation vendors, and internal operations regarding pricing. In this role, you'll be responsible for calculating price quotes based on customers' unique project specifications, ensuring the accuracy of estimates and rates, and assisting customers through booking services.

As a Client Support & Pricing Associate, you'll be responsible for managing day to day freight quotes and updating vendor and client tariffs based on current market conditions. You will also develop this role to be consistent with the company's growth plan and find ways to increase productivity. The Client Support & Pricing Associate is responsible for performing in-depth rate analysis to ensure the Company is competitive in the industry and profitable. The successful candidate will work closely with the Sales Department to ensure the Company is meeting service requirements while maximizing profitability.

Essential Functions:



Serve as the primary contact for assigned customers, providing timely responses to questions and service requests.

Track and monitor shipments (import, export, FCL, LCL, and air) to ensure on-time performance.

Coordinate with carriers, overseas agents, and internal departments to resolve service issues.

Keep clients informed of shipment milestones and exceptions.

Assist with billing processes, rate confirmation, and account follow-up as needed.

Build strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and customer satisfaction.

Support sales and operations team with customer-related information and service feedback. Obtain rates from carriers, co-loaders, and overseas partners for ocean, air, and trucking services.

Prepare, validate, and issue quotations for the sales and operations teams in a timely manner.

Maintain updated rate sheets, tariffs, and surcharges within internal systems.

Track industry changes such as GRI (General Rate Increases), peak season surcharges, and new carrier programs.

Negotiate rates and service terms with carriers and vendors to maximize competitiveness and profitability.

Support the preparation of bids, RFQs, and large account tenders.

Provide input and guidance to sales representatives regarding pricing strategies and market positioning.

Collaborate closely with overseas offices/agents to ensure consistent global pricing support.

Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, responding promptly to inquiries and service requests.

Coordinate with operations, carriers, and overseas agents to provide accurate shipment updates.

Monitor shipments from booking to final delivery, ensuring on-time performance and issue resolution.

Maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for service improvement.

Escalate service challenges to the management when required.

Support billing and follow-up payment where applicable.

Prepare accurate and timely quotations for the sales and operations teams.

Maintain updated rate sheets, tariffs, and surcharges in company systems.

Supporting the sales team to secure new and existing business opportunities.

Other job duties as assigned.

Education Requirement:



Post-Secondary studies in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or related fields

Minimum of 3 years international transportation industry experience

Relevant industry certifications considered an asset (i.e. CIFFA, APICS)

Required Skills and Knowledge:



Prior Pricing or Operations in freight forwarding required.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of Incoterms, carrier contracts, and logistics practices.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Proficiency with Excel and freight forwarding software systems, e.g., CargoWise, is an advantage.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum 2-3 years of freight forwarding or pricing experience.

Strong negotiation and vendor relationship skills.

Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
