Vacant positions are distributed by seniority. A new employee will start on the night shift from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m, on a continental schedule (alternating between 36 hours and 48 hours per week).
The starting hourly rate offered is $30.53. Increases will be given after 6 months.
After 3 months of continuous service, employees become unionized and will have access to the following:
• Group insurances (dental and medical) paid at 90% by the employer.
• Life insurance; accident, death and dismemberment; short term and long-term disability; and dependent life insurance all paid 100% by the employee.
• Work uniform and safety equipment (glasses and shoes) paid by the employer.
After 1 year of continuous service:
Group RRSP: the employer contributes 4% of the employee's total earnings if the employee contributes 1% of his earnings

The duties of a press operator are as follows:
• Set up and operate the press to print plastic film
• Read order forms
• Prepare and install cylinders on the press
• Insert cardboard tubes onto the shaft and ensure that they are properly inserted into the press
• Install blank rolls in press and fill ink and solvent tanks
• Tape the end of the new roll of plastic film to the one being printed and turn the crank to adjust film tension
• Start press and adjust plate speed, tension and alignment
• Take samples and inspect for imperfections on plastic film
• Finalize the product and prepare it for dispatch to the next department
• All other related tasks
• Keeps work environment clean and orderly
• Applies the various safety rules.
• Applies Hood Packaging's quality and food safety policy.
