Adecco is currently recruiting for a full-time 3rd Class Power Engineer, to work at a well-established energy company majoring in the production of synthetic crude from oil sands. The ideal candidate will be local to Fort McMurray, be a certified 3rd Class Power Engineer with ABSA, and have a minimum five years of experience as a Plant Operator. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring, adjusting equipment, and processing variables to maintain a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operation and to ensure product quality. * Location: Fort McMurray, AB

• Job type: Full-time | Long-Term Contract
• Shifts: 6 days on - 6 days off

Duties and Responsibilities: * Operate the equipment in a safe, efficient manner

• Enter work notifications for all deficiencies requiring maintenance support
• Learn and adhere to management systems
• Train and become qualified on multiple posts in a reasonable timeframe
• Start-up, shutdown, and Isolate equipment for maintenance activities
• Perform operator care rounds and routines

Requirements and Qualifications: * ABSA 3rd Class Power Engineer certificate is required

• Potable water or Domestic Wastewater qualifications is an asset
• Minimum five years of experience as a Plant Operator is a must
• Experience with steam turbines, centrifugal pumps, cooling towers and heat exchangers is needed
• Should have strong mechanical aptitude to allow hands-on operation of plant equipment with minimal supervision
• Holder of a valid class 5 driver's license
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
