We are looking for a dynamic and innovative individual to join our team. The summer student will support the Correctional Health Nursing and AMH Practice Leads.

Description:

This is an 8 week full time position where the summer student will provide support in the planning of strategic and integrated health service delivery initiatives that advance the AHS vision, mission, and values. This role will be instrumental in supporting project planning, organizing and creating branded templates and content, newsletters, operational manuals, data entry, update and archive web programs. The summer student will be provided with mentorship to help navigate the complexities of the department\'s work and will be expected to develop an understanding of the processes associated with system and service planning in the Correctional healthcare environment. The successful candidate will need to problem solve in a complex environment, while honoring confidentiality; they will also need to demonstrate a curious mindset that values continuous learning. To support evidence-based practices, they will develop meaningful relationships, conducting analysis and support ongoing project management activities.

Required Qualifications:

Applicants must be enrolled a relevant post-secondary education program (e.g., Public Health, Healthcare Administration/Management, Health Promotion, Health Sciences, or Project Management, etc). They must possess excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to apply knowledge to complex situations, as well as the ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage time. Demonstrated intermediate (to advanced) computer skills, including experience with the Microsoft Suite of applications with a good understanding of Excel. Additional Required Qualifications:

The summer student is a great communicator who can write and/or verbally present complex content into concise and easily understood reports, briefing notes or presentations. Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams. Preferred Qualifications:
