A Little Bit About Us and Our Summer Student Development Program: For the past 85 years, Kawartha Dairy has been proud to be a 100% Canadian-owned company, still operated by the same family that founded it in 1937. Although the company has grown tremendously from its early days, it still remains headquartered in the lakeside community of Bobcaygeon, Ontario, near Peterborough, an hour north of the GTA. We still use fresh milk and cream, delivered daily from local farms to make our premium, rich and creamy ice cream and dairy products.

The paid Student Development Program is a highly selective, high potential program for career focused post-secondary students. An opportunity focused on helping students gain valuable work experience and insight into the Dairy industry in Bobcaygeon.
Students will directly contribute to Kawartha Dairy\xe2\x80\x99s success while receiving an unmatched, behind-the-scenes learning experience. Work within the Sales department and gain exposure to the business of Dairy Manufacturing through challenging, hands-on projects and networking opportunities. In addition, students are given opportunities of mentorship from our Leadership Team Members.

What you Need:
  • Be enrolled in (or entering) 2nd-4th year post secondary OR post graduate program
  • Business, Marketing or Psychology students with an interest in Sales and Customer Management may be especially interested in the opportunity
  • Legally permitted to work in Canada
    • A valid G license with clean drivers abstract comfortable driving in the GTA and Cottage Country
  • Available to work flexible shifts outside of regular hours when required (weekends, and statutory holidays)
  • Available for start of program April 29, 2024 until end of program August 31, 2024

What You will Do:
  • Work in collaboration with our local Territory Managers during Summer Call Cycle in Retail and Scooping Partner Sales Calls
  • Analyze competitive pricing and activity in partner accounts.
  • Maximize product availability within existing client base by presenting and placing applicable products with all customers.
  • Cold Calling and solicitation of potential new clients to acquire new business.
  • Responsible for placement and maintenance of Point-of-Sale Materials
  • Attendance and participation in Sampling Events

  • Full Time Hours
  • Wage: $20 per hour and business mileage reimbursement ($.55/km car allowance)
  • Overnight stays and all travel expenses paid included if required
