Job Description

Nature of the work




The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in organizing social, cultural and sports activities of all types mainly for groups, taking into account their expectations as well as established policies either as a complement to certain educational programs or more often as recreation.


Characteristic functions




The employee in this class of employment participates in the preparation and implementation of sports and sociocultural activity programs, such as music, theatre, cinema, visual arts, exhibitions, sports tournaments and gymnastics.


The employee participates in determining the activities; prepares program schedules and ensures the smooth operation; explains the nature, objectives and regulations regarding activities; identifies abnormal situations and rectifies or reports them to the authorities according to established instructions.


Uses facilitation techniques to assist groups in organizing and setting up leisure activities.


In residences, the employee is required to provide information, guide and direct students with respect to the various aspects of residence life. Depending on the problems or situations encountered, he or she may be required to contact the school staff and, at times, parents.


In keeping with the policy established, the employee may be responsible for information: publicity committee, bulletin, postings and news releases in newspapers or on the radio.


Participates in selecting equipment and materials that the school board places at the disposal of groups and, in particular, takes into account the quality and cost of the equipment and makes appropriate recommendations to the authorities concerned. Oversees the maintenance of the equipment in the inventory and ensures its rational use.


May be required to train less experienced technicians as well as coordinate the work of support staff in performing duties related to the implementation of programs involving technical operations for which the employee is responsible.


If need be, performs any other related duty.

Required qualifications



Schooling and experience:




Hold a Diploma of College Studies in Community Recreation Leadership Training or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.


BMS, experience with student who have ASD

Nature du travail




Le role principal et habituel de la personne salariee de cette classe d'emplois consiste a s'assurer du respect, par les eleves, de la politique d'encadrement de l'ecole concernant la discipline.


Attributions caracteristiques



La personne salariee de cette classe d'emplois participe a l'elaboration et a la mise en application de programmes d'activites socioculturelles et sportives tels que la musique, le theatre, le cinema, les arts plastiques, les expositions, les tournois de sport, la gymnastique.


Participe au choix des activites; elle elabore l'horaire du programme et en assure le fonctionnement; explique la nature, l'objectif et les reglements des activites et note les situations anormales, les corrige ou en fait rapport aux autorites, selon les directives etablies.


Sert des techniques d'animation afin d'aider les groupes a s'organiser et a se donner des activites de loisirs.


Dans les residences, est en outre appelee a renseigner, guider et diriger les eleves dans les divers aspects de la vie en residence; selon les problemes ou les situations rencontrees, peut etre appelee a communiquer avec le personnel des ecoles frequentees ou a l'occasion, avec les parents.


En conformite avec la politique etablie, elle peut etre chargee de l'information : comite de publicite, bulletin, affichage, communiques dans les journaux et a la radio.


Participe au choix de l'equipement et du materiel que la commission scolaire met a la disposition des groupes, notamment en etudiant la qualite et le cout de tels articles et en faisant les recommandations appropriees aux autorites; elle supervise l'entretien des articles en inventaire et en assure une utilisation rationnelle.


Peut etre appelee a initier des techniciennes ou techniciens moins experimentes de meme qu'a coordonner le travail du personnel de soutien dans les taches accomplies par ce personnel relativement a la realisation de programmes d'operations techniques dont elle est responsable.


Au besoin, accomplit toute autre tache connexe.

Qualifications requises



Scolarite et experience




Etre titulaire d'un diplome d'etudes collegiales en techniques de gestion et d'intervention en loisir ou etre titulaire d'un diplome ou d'une attestation d'etudes dont l'equivalence est reconnue par l'autorite competente.


BMS, experience avec des eleves avec TSA
