Pokey Okey is looking for a new store manager for its downtown location on Hornby street! We are seeking someone who is passionate about customer service and quality food who can lead our team. This individual should have 3+ years working in the food & beverage industry, with some management experience. Prior experience in poke or Japanese restaurant is a big plus.
This job will entail:
-Working in restaurant in various roles, including assembling Poke bowls, prepping in kitchen, dishwashing, and customer service.
Store Maintenance
- Maintenance checklist inspection
- Stationery orders
- Equipment inventory check
- Updates to printed materials such as laminated sheets and signages
- Basic IT troubleshooting
- Store organization
- Equipment condition check
- Tablet settings check (volume, prep time, etc)
HR
- Scheduling
- Training new staff
- Ongoing training for staff
- Staff probation passing
- Staff Birthdays
- Senior staff and Shift leader training
- Firing staff
- Issuing warning letters
- Answering staff's questions regarding pay, holidays, etc
- Making sure there are adequate staffing
- Resolving disputes between staff
Administration
- Contingencies (e.g. something out of stock, electricity shut off, no more lids etc)
- Monthly documents (close batch slips, invoices from suppliers, etc)
- Deposit money to bank
- Distributing tips
Quality Assurance
- Quality checking the foods
- Reviewing customer complaints and addressing issues
- Communicate with Chef and district manager about issues with quality
- Monitor staff for customer service and order accuracy
