We are seeking a highly technical Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this newly created role, you will be responsible for the design, build and maintenance of infrastructure and automation systems that support E-Comm\'s services and delivery processes.

In this role, you will focus on delivering highly available, scalable enterprise solutions, optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure and eliminating work through automation. With a focus on implementing DevOps practices to positively impact the development and deployment processes, you will be responsible for continuous improvement leveraging cloud computing technologies, integration and delivery.

Described as a self-starter, with the ability to juggle multiple competing priorities, you will possess strong experience with infrastructure automation, using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation, as well as demonstrated experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS and Azure.

Key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Designing and implementing infrastructure and automation solutions to support an Infrastructure as Code environment, promotion pipeline and delivery processes
  • Providing operational support for assigned platforms, ensuring they meet the needs of the company and associated stakeholders
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting system issues, resolving them in a timely manner; solving complex problems and providing build/deploy solutions
  • Collaborating with other Technology Services team members including System Administrators, Network Engineers, Service Delivery Managers, and Operations to ensure smooth and efficient software delivery
  • Providing mentorship and training to other members on technologies and processes, technical practices, tools, standards and best practices
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
  • Completion of a bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science or Engineering and considerable related experience of increasing complexity
  • Minimum of 5 years\' experience in a similar role
  • DevOps Engineer or similar certifications from any major public cloud provider
  • Linux Foundation CKAD, CKA, CKS
  • AWS/Azure/GCP certifications
  • ITIL v3, 4 preferred
  • Strong experience with infrastructure automation, using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation
  • Experience with containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong understanding of networking and security concepts
  • Strong experience with Linux systems administration
  • Previous experience with migrations from VM to cloud and/or container
  • Highly adept in creating tools using GO, Python, Bash, JavaScript or similar
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools, such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, or Elasticsearch
SECURITY CLEARANCE:

As a condition of employment at E-Comm, the required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained. This is a process carried out by our law enforcement partner agencies, facilitated by E-Comm. The minimum residency in Canada to qualify for this position, as established by our law enforcement partner agencies, is 10 years.

E-Comm offers a competitive salary of between $ 100,354 and $ 118,721 combined with an excellent benefits package. This position is based in Burnaby and is eligible for hybrid working.
